KUCHING: Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development (KKWPK) Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah says the One Stop Centre for Addiction (OSCA) is different from other agencies.
“We understand that it is difficult for drug addicts to come forward and be open about their addiction.
“The OSCA is clinical. Addicts can walk in and get themselves treated like any other diseases,” she said during her visit to the OSCA at Petra Jaya Health Clinic here on Tuesday (March 2).
“This should be the turning point for addicts as the OSCA can help them with anything they need.”
Fatimah also mentioned that agencies needed to work together to combat drug abuse in Sarawak.
“With agencies related to drug and substance abuse, including those that offer rehabilitation and treatment, working together, we would be able to break the chain in Sarawak.
“For instance, cooperation between the narcotics crime investigation department (JSJN) and Customs, the latter, with information from the JSJN, would be able to take appropriate actions to stop the drug supply.”
