KUCHING: The new Centre of Technical Excellence Sarawak (Centexs) Commercial Media (CCM) will be utilised for promotion and marketing of local products made in Sarawak.
Deputy State Secretary (Performance and Service Delivery) Datuk Dr Sabariah Putit stated that CCM will utilise various media platforms, particularly digital to provide wider marketing coverage.
She disclosed that the establishment of CCM garnered strong support from Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, Industrial Terminal and Entrepreneur Development (Mintred).
“One of Centexs Commercial’s main roles is to help the local communities to market their heritage or digital products throughout Sarawak and in Malaysia. In May this year, a collaboration was forged between Centexs Commercial and Mintred to establish CCM.
“CCM is a digital media platform that will create an ecosystem to ensure the expansion of products produced by the local community and entrepreneurs. It also plays a role in promoting their products on digital media platform like Facebook, Instagram and YouTube,” she said.
She said this in her welcoming address during the opening of CCM at Centexs Headquarters at Jalan Sultan Tengah here on Thursday (Nov 11).
At the same time, she stated that CCM has collaborated with eight local influences to help in the promotion of products produced by local entrepreneurs through their respective social media platforms.
“This means the promotional videos produced by CCM will be published on the eight influencers’ Facebook and Instagram. The influencers have a large number of followings which mean the promotional videos can reach many viewers,” she said.
Also present were Mintred Assistant Minister Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais, Centexs chief executive officer Syeed Mohd Hussein, Centexs Commercial general manager Mohamad Shahren Mohamad Yusri and other dignitaries.
