BINTULU: Twenty-year-old Nornazli Shah Norazam Shah, a Forestry Diploma graduate from the Faculty of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu campus, worked hard while studying.

This native of Batang Kali, Selangor grew up without a mother since he was 16, with his father as the only backbone of the family to support him and three other siblings.

Adhering to the principle of hard work, Nornazli worked at night delivering food to students at the campus who make reservations, while on weekends, he worked cleaning the area, picking fruit, and selling the produce at the university canteen.

As a result of the work, Nornazli earned around RM10 a day – enough to cover daily expenses and a small amount of study costs.

“Learning while working taught me that earning money is not easy, but this is what gives me the motivation to work hard to achieve my goals,” he said after the 48th Convocation Ceremony of UPM here on Saturday.

Although the income was not great, for Nornazli, it was an important exercise in facing life’s challenges.

He dreams of one day becoming a successful person who is able to help his family and the underprivileged.

“I believe that no challenge is impossible to overcome. If we are enthusiastic and work hard, we can definitely achieve what we dream of,” said Nornazli.
