KLANG: A 70-year-old disabled woman survived a fire at a single-storey terraced house in Kampung Pendamar Phase II, Port Klang near here early yesterday morning.
Port Klang Fire and Rescue Department Station chief senior assistant fire Superintendent Juyana @ Azlan Musa said in the incident at about 6.30am, the victim who was in the bedroom at the back of the house, was rescued by firefighters.
He said that upon receiving a call at about 6.38am, a team of 15 firefighters and officers rushed to the scene.
“The elderly women who is disabled, was suffering from breathing difficulties and was handed over to the Emergency Services Assistance Unit (EMRS),” he said.
He said the findings showed that several family members of the victim who were at the front of the house had managed to escape, adding that the terraced house was 80 percent gutted in the incident. – Bernama
