PUTRAJAYA: Malaysians living in all parts of the world are encouraged to display their patriotism on social media as part of an initiative to enhance national pride and unity, and to foster solidarity among the worlds’ population.
The “Kibaran Jiwa Merdeka” campaign encourages citizens to upload videos and photos of themselves proudly displaying the Jalur Gemilang using the hashtag #KibaranJiwaMerdeka on Aug 31 and Sept 16.
According to the Ministry of National Unity (KPN) Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang, independence should be perceived not just as the end of a colonial rule, but as an opportunity for individuals to improve their quality of life and foster national pride.
“The concept of Malaysia Madani is the key to uniting Malaysians of different races and religions,” he said.
He also urged all Malaysians to engage in the campaign.
“I hope that social media will be filled with patriotic images that will serve as a platform for uniting Malaysians and fostering a spirit of togetherness,” he advised.
The Ministry hopes that this campaign will not only celebrate diversity but also reinforce solidarity and national identity.
