KUCHING: Water supply to the Fisheries Department office, Agriculture Department office, Sematan Subdistrict Office and the market in Sematan was disrupted yesterday.

The Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) said, in a statement, that the problem was due to the damage of the main pipe by underground peat soil fires.

Urging the residents in the areas to conserve their water, JBALB said water trucks would be despatched by its teams from Kuching Division to the affected areas immediately.
