JULAU: Continuous heavy rainfall since Tuesday night has inundated the Julau District Office, forcing the relocation of equipment to higher floors yesterday.

The rising floodwaters was first noticed by office employees before the start of office hours.

Firefighters from Bintangor station were promptly dispatched upon receiving notification of the incident.

Upon arrival, the team found floodwaters reaching 0.6 metre high, spilled onto the ground floor of the two-storey building.

However, no evacuation was necessary as all office equipment had been relocated to the second floor beforehand.

The team remained on-site to monitor the situation and advised the staff on duty to be vigilant amidst the flooding.

Despite the inundation, operations continued without interruption at the district office, where 29 staff members are employed.
