JASIN: Dodol entrepreneurs in Melaka are encouraged to pioneer modern methods of production using new technology to ensure that the traditional food could be produced faster and in larger quantity and thus penetrate the international market.
Melaka Chief Minister Adly Zahari said although the method of making dodol must be enhanced using more sophisticated machines, the entrepreneurs concerned must not forget the traditional methods used all this while.
“The state government always encouraged dodol entrepreneurs to modernise the traditional food industry such as this because the sale of the food has reached the international level.
“We hope that more dodol products could be produced in future and more people could contribute ideas so that the industry could expand,” he told reporters after opening a dodol-making programme at Kampung Merlimau Tengah, here today.
Commenting on the programme, he said the role played by non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and Village Community Management Council (MPKK) in organising the dodol-making programme such as this could give more opportunities to dodol makers to modernise the methods of making dodol. – Bernama
