BETONG: Betong District Council (MDB) will conduct a stray dog-catching operation in this town throughout this month.
“MDB has been receiving complaints from the public relating to stray dogs in the town which are a nuisance and threatening public health and safety.
“Following the complaints we will be conducting an operation to catch the stray dogs at night soon involving the council’s Public Health and Urban Services Division,” a spokesman said.
He added that the operation would focus on several areas including Bandar Baharu Betong, Betong old town and State Government Residential Complex at Jalan Tanjung Assam. Housing areas like Paya Udak, Tien Lien, Semumok, Bebanggai, Meng Hua and Chui Siew, Entanak, Goodland and other areas will be determined later.
Owners of pet dogs are advised to ensure their dogs are in their house to prevent from being caught during the operation.
MDB is looking forward to the full cooperation of all parties to ensure the operation is a success.
