KUCHING: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap has made a significant donation to Surau Al-Mukhlis in the Kampung Stutong Melayu, Stampin Resettlement Scheme.
The donation, aimed at supporting the local community’s funeral rites, includes a ‘meja mandi jenazah’ (a table for washing the deceased), a ‘meja jenazah’ (a table for the deceased), and ten sets of ‘kain kapan’ (shrouds).
This generous contribution was officially handed over to Sarip Lias, the chairman of the surau, in a ceremony attended by Sebi Abang, the Premier’s special officer on Islamic matters, and Shaari Mahidi, the village chief.
“The contribution given today reflects Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s dedication and commitment to supporting the welfare, religious activities, and needs of all communities residing in the Kota Sentosa constituency, regardless of race or religion,” said Yap recently.
He further highlighted the importance of unity for the political stability and continued development of Sarawak.
“The most important aspect of our Sarawak is peace, understanding one another, tolerance, and compassion,” he added.
