MUKAH: Fire victims of Kampung Tellian Daya (Tellian Ulu) here received food items from the Lions Club Mukah branch on Saturday (June 12).
Its president Penghulu Henry Lee Liong Ing, accompanied by the club’s executive committee members, presented the donation to Busang Belalan, 73, whose house was destroyed by fire on June 10.
On the same day, Kampung Petian village development and security committee, which was represented by its chairman kapitan Ting Siew Leong, also presented cash donations to Busang.
Both non-governmental organisations hoped that their contribution would help lighten the burden of the victims.
Busang and his son’s family, comprising nine individuals, lost their home in a fire about 3pm on June 10.
All of them managed to escape safely, and they are currently staying at their neighbour’s house.
