KUCHING: People are advised to do what they are good at.
“If there are things we can’t do, then don’t do it at all because forcing yourself can have a bad effect on your mental health,” advised Samsiah Jayos, a Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas) counselling lecturer.
Samsiah, a licensed counsellor, said people should use their 2019 experience as a guide to the new year.
“The past days should provide an experience that enables us to face the challenges of 2020,” she said when asked to comment on what to expect on the arrival of the new year.
Meanwhile, motivational expert Ahmad Faizal Osman, better known as Cikgu Emmet, said things that happened in 2019 should make people wiser in 2020.
“Forget about past failures but build new hopes for yourself to succeed in the months ahead.
“Apart from that, don’t give up easily. Get up every time you fall!” he said.
