KUCHING: Sarawakians have been urged to continue to observe the COVID-19 preventive measures recommended by the Ministry of Health (MoH).
State Health Department director Dr Ooi Choo Huck said that the success of the control of the COVID-19 situation was largely due to public awareness of the importance of adopting preventive measures recommended by the Health Ministry.
Nevertheless, he reminded the public to continue observing the preventive measures laid down by the authorities.
“Preventive measures that need to be practised include wearing face masks when inside a building, especially in shopping malls and public transport spots as well as e-hailing.
“Wearing of face masks is also encouraged when outdoors, especially for individuals with symptoms or those who are of high-risk, when conducting activities and also when in a crowded place,” he said in a statement yesterday (April 29).
In addition, he stressed that the practice of hand hygiene should also be maintained at all times.
“This is because hand hygiene helps in the prevention of COVID-19 disease as well as other diseases, especially hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD).
