KUCHING: Former Minister in Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Nancy Skukri has ticked off Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng for his “Sarawak will go bankrupt” remarks.
“It’s a misleading statement. Don’t fool Sarawakians,” said Nancy, who is also Batang Sadong Member of Parliament.
She said she was wondering what the DAP or Pakatan Harapan (PH) had in mind when they brought their financially unintelligent minister to Sarawak.
“Maybe they think most Sarawakians can easily be fooled by him. Come on Guan Eng, if your followers are already “yes men” at the federal level, we are not going to allow you to mislead us Sarawakians,” she said.
Nancy pointed out that Sarawak was a state with RM31 billion untouched reserves and a budget allocated close to RM11 billion, not taking into account the revenues generated through economic activities.
She said Sarawakians must also realise that prior to the 14th general election (GE14), the Pakatan Harapan government sang the same song which many people believed.
“And now he is using it to convince Sarawakians. How could Sarawak DAP allow this?
“When GPS did not support the amendment to the Art 1(2) of the Federal Constitution, PH called us traitors, and we proved them wrong.
“Instead, they are the real traitors of Sarawak. With GE’s statement on Sarawak to go bankrupt and with DAP Sarawak supporting him, is that not another act of betrayal to Sarawak?” she asked.
Hence, Nancy said Sarawakians should realise and think deeply of this Malaya based party coming to Sarawak to “rob” them of their treasures.
“I fully support Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Tun Abdul Daim Zainuddin for giving their ministers below average marks. It is proven that some of their ministers really fit the description.
“How could he manage Malaysia’s finance if he can’t even do a simple calculation? I am not surprised even if investors felt threatened by his words,” added Nancy.
“Lim doesn’t know Sarawak well and who is he (Lim) to tell Sarawakians what to do?”
“So, Chong and colleagues, I am shocked by your boss’ statement. Sarawakians should unite against foolish Malayan politicians,” Nancy said.
