MIRI: Vehicle owners with substantial outstanding parking compounds will now be registered with the Credit Tip Off Service (CTOS) system.
Miri City Council (MCC) Mayor Adam Yii Siew Sang said this action targets individuals who have accumulated significant unpaid parking fines.
“Our aim is to hold them accountable and encourage timely payment,” he said today (Oct 28)
This move aligns with MCC’s commitment to uphold efficient parking management, as mandated by the Road Transport (Provision of Parking Places) (Miri City Council) (Amendment) Order, 2006.
“By utilising the CTOS credit reporting system, we hope to deter repeated non-compliance and streamline parking administration across the city,” he added.
MCC strongly advises vehicle owners to settle any outstanding parking fines as soon as possible to avoid CTOS registration and potential consequences for their credit rating.
