KUCHING: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg urged Sarawakians to maintain the state’s stability, crediting it for Sarawak’s ongoing development.
“What we need is unity among Sarawakians, regardless of background.
“Don’t rock this stability. Maintain it so we can continue developing the state.” he said when officiating at the Ang Cheng Ho Quarry Multipurpose Hall today (Oct 28).
By 2030, Abang Johari expressed confidence that Batu Kawa would be significantly improved.
“Previously underdeveloped, Batu Kawa has transformed into a gem,” he said.
“A far-sighted, visionary, and responsible government is crucial for progress.”
The Premier commended Batu Kawa residents for their racial harmony and urged continued support for Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, the area’s assemblyman.
“This includes supporting other representatives like Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap Yau Sin and Batu Kitang assemblyman Datuk Ir Lo Khere Chiang,” Abang Johari added.
“They all work under a unified leadership to develop their respective areas and foster harmonious living.”
Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration, and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh and other dignitaries were also present at the event.
