BAU: The public are urged not to vandalise the basic facilities provided by the local authorities at public places.

Bau District Council (MDB) made the call after eight solar lights were stolen at Rock Garden here.

“Solar lights are public property installed by the local authority to provide a conducive and safe public park for residents from inside or outside Bau areas to do their leisure activities.

“However, a few irresponsible individuals choose to commit vandalism or steal the installed solar lights,” MDB said in a statement posted at its Facebook page.

The council hoped that as a society with a high vision, the public would appreciate the public property that had been provided for common use.

Meanwhile, sharing the same posting, Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh called on irresponsible individuals to stop stealing public property.
