SARATOK: A pickup truck driver who committed a traffic offence by making an illegal U-turn along KM51, Jalan Betong-Sarikei recently, was also found driving with an expired driving licence.

The incident came to light on Tuesday (July 18) after photos of a white Mitsubishi Triton making illegal turn at a P-turn, went viral on Facebook.

The posting attracted a wave of negative comments condemning the driver’s action.

According to the Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department, the driver came forward to Saratok traffic police station around 11.40 am yesterday (July 19) to assist in the investigation.

The driver admitted his wrongdoing, thereby committing an offence under Rule 13(1)(b) of the Traffic Rules 166/59.
