KUCHING: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof today confirmed a case of impersonation using his profile image across various social media platforms.
Fadillah, who is also the Petra Jaya MP, shared in a post on X (Nov 20) that friends alerted him to messages from an impersonator in a WhatsApp group, under the number +6011-14045313, attempting to scam people using his image.
“Upon verification, the same number was identified on Telegram and Facebook, where my profile picture was used,” he said, adding that he had reported this issue to WhatsApp, Telegram, and Facebook operators.
Truecaller investigations showed the number was linked to someone named Rinoneze. Additionally, Fadillah highlighted a fraudulent Facebook account created under “Haji Fadillah Yusof,” also reported to Facebook.
He clarified that his legitimate Facebook accounts are at facebook.com/fadillahyusof1 (official) and facebook.com/fadillah.yusof (personal).
