Zahid arrives in Kuching for a two-day working visit.

KUCHING: Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Patinggi Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, is in Kuching for a two-day working visit from Oct 10 to Oct 12.

He arrived at the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) Kuching Base at 6.20 pm yesterday.

Welcoming him were Minister in the Premier’s Department Datuk John Sikie Tayai and Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) Datuk Rubiah Wang.

Today (Oct 11), Zahid will attend the MEXCLUB meeting at the Sheraton Hotel.

MEXCLUB is founded on Aug 23, 1994 and it was first known as the meeting for Rural Development Coordination (MMKN) among Sarawak State Cabinet members. It was renamed MEXCLUB on May 10, 1999. This group consists of rural excos, officials from the Finance Ministry, Economic Planning Unit, the Prime Minister’s Department, and agencies under KKDW.

He will also visit the Empurau Borneo Farm in Serian in the afternoon.

Zahid is scheduled to return to Kuala Lumpur at 8.45 am on Oct 12.

Among those present during his arrival were Deputy Police Commissioner Datuk Mancha Ata and Kuching District Police Deputy Chief Supt Merbin Lisa.
