SIBU: Education, Science and Technological Research Assistant Minister Dr Annuar Rapaee visited Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Jalan Oya near here, in conjunction with the first day of the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia examination on Monday (Feb 22).
During the visit, he spent about half an hour with the candidates as well as giving words of encouragement to them.
It is understood that two students of the school could not sit for the examination as they were still undergoing quarantine.
A total of 3,583 candidates throughout Sibu sat for SPM at 37 examination centres this year.
Of the total, 3,324 candidates are from government schools, 131 private schools and 128 private individuals.
