KUCHING: Former Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) director Dr Chin Zin Hing is the new State Health director replacing Dr Jamilah Hashim effective today.
The handover of duties ceremony was held at the State Health Office in Petra Jaya here, which was witnessed by state Health Department deputy director (Medical) Dr Kamarudin Lajim.
At the ceremony, Dr Chin said his new appointment was a greater trust placed on him compared to his previous responsibilities, in addition to his past experience as the division’s health director in Sri Aman, Limbang, Sibu, Mukah and Kanowit.
“Even though previously I served as director of Sarawak General Hospital but taking care of the whole state of Sarawak is a greater responsibility,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dr Jamilah who retires tomorrow said throughout her tenure, many achievements have been made in the health sector in Sarawak and she considered her appointment a great honour for women. ― Bernama
