KUCHING: Demak Laut assemblyman Dr Hazland Abang Hipni obtained the highest number of votes in the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Supreme Council Bumiputera Wing election for the 2022 – 2025 term.
Based on the results announced by PBB election officer Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah, Hazland polled 867 votes. Saribas assemblyman Razi Sitam obtained the second highest number of votes with 860 followed by Semop assemblyman Abdullah Saidol who polled 836 votes.
A total of 22 candidates contested for the 16 slots in the council. The others who made the list are Sadong Jaya assemblyman Aidel Lariwoo with 830 votes; Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman (824); Daro assemblyman Shafiee Ahmad (824); Beting Maro assemblyman Razaili Gapor (806); Simunjan assemblyman Awla Dris (798); Tanjung Manis MP Yusuf Abdul Wahab (789).
Also through are Jemoreng assemblyman Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya with 784 votes; Kalaka assemblyman Mohamad Duri (779); Awgku Jinal Abiden Dato Pgn Jawa (766); Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) deputy chairman Datuk Haidar Khan Asghar Khan (755); Mohammed Kamaluddin Mohamad Efendie (687); Mohamad Sardon Zainal (615) and Syed Hamzah Wan Hamid Edruce – 529 votes.
The PBB 15th TGM was held at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) from June 16-19.
Meanwhile there were no contest for the post of the PBB Supreme Council Pesaka Wing.
With that, sitting in the Supreme Council Pesaka Wing are Lawas MP Datuk Henry Sum Agong; Bukit Goram assemblyman Jefferson Jamit Unyat; Mambong assemblyman Datuk Dr Jerip Susil; Pakan assemblyman Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom; Betong MP Datuk Robert Lawson Chuat; Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau; Tebedu assemblyman Dr Simon Sinang Bada; Bukit Semuja assemblyman John Ilus; Katibas assemblyman Lidam Assan; Daniel Jubang Kanyan; Mikai Mandau; Luyoh Akah; Ugak Sanggau and Robert Laing Anyie.
The PBB 15th TGM took place at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) from June 16 to 19 with 2,420 delegates attending.
