KUCHING: The decision made by Transportation Assistant Minister Datuk Dr Jerip Susil has been described as a “difficult one”.
“His resignation from Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) is a tough decision but as what he said, it is for the sake of the people in his constituency and unity of the Bidayuh”, said Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah when met by reporters after chairing the PBB Women’s meeting here yesterday.
Fatimah also said that whatever decision made by him, it needed to be accepted and supported.
Asked if Dr Jerip would join Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), Fatimah said only he could answer that as he has his own reasons to leave the party.
Dr Jerip announced his decision to resign from PSB with immediate effect through a letter dated July 10 with his signature on it.
In the letter, he said he arrived at the decision after “consulting the people and supporters in his constituency (Mambong)”.
“My decision too is in the greater interest of the Bidayuh unity” he said in the letter.
