His re-election was proposed by Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom (PBB-Kemena) and seconded by Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail (PBB-Bukit Kota) during the DUN sitting today.

Rundi said Nuing has served with dedication and honour during his first term as a senator of Dewan Negara.

“He has actively participated in proceedings.

“He has also shown, during deliberations, his interests in the rights and welfare of Sarawak,” he said.

Rundi said he is confident that with Nuing’s vast experience, if re-elected, will continue to advance and safeguard the interests of Sarawakians.

Citing Nuing’s experiences, Rundi said that he had served as a medical officer in various government hospitals in Sarawak since 1978 before joining Sarawak Shell Berhad in 1983 where he remained as chief medical officer for Shell companies in Malaysia until his retirement in Jan, 2007
