KUCHING: Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom hopes that more funding will be given to his Ministry of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development under the new federal government.

He said this was because his ministry received the allocation alongside programmes through Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, Ministry of Rural Development, and Ministry of Plantation, Industry and Commodity.

“Nonetheless, from our part, we are moving forward and enhancing our agriculture sector and develop it into industry.

“And we have seven more years to go before 2030 comes along, and our aim is to be a net food exporter,” he said.

The senior vice-president of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) also stated that with the new federal government, the Sarawak govt are looking not only to support them but also to be a part able to transform the country politically and economically.

“As you all know, 2023 will be a challenging year for us. And Malaysia cannot afford to endure this political horror far too long.
