KUCHING: Sarawak is a real venue to look for renewable energy, said Minister of Public Utilities Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom.

“That is why we develop Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) so that the state will be able to renew the energy and in order to leapfrog industrialisation in Sarawak,” he said in his speech at the closing ceremony of the 4th International Sustainable Energy Summit (ISES) 2018 at Pullman Hotel here on Wednesday.

He added that at present there are more than 30 investors from China, Japan and all over the world in Samalaju Industrial Estate in Bintulu.

“And we are in fact hoping to have enough power to meet the demands of the industrial players coming to Sarawak.

“Once we have enough power, of cause it will protect our stability, security and others,” he pointed out.

Dr Rundi also said the state is ready to provide a good venue for industry players to come over to Sarawak.
