KUCHING: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian has donated RM10,000 to the Kuching Division Journalists Association (KDJA) to support its activities throughout the year.

In a statement today (Jan 21), the association said Dr Sim presented the donation to KDJA President Ronnie Teo during a simple ceremony held at the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) headquarters.

Teo said the funds would be utilised for various activities throughout the year, including the Mount Kinabalu Summit hiking expedition, media familiarisation trips, a media reunion dinner, Hari Wartawan Nasional (Hawana), workshops, and more.

He conveyed the association’s gratitude to Dr Sim for his support of the media fraternity in Kuching.

“The donations today will be used to fund KDJA’s activities in 2024, specifically for our upcoming Annual CNY Media Dinner 2024, whereby Dr Sim has been invited as the guest of honour.

“We look forward to giving back to our media colleagues with events such as this, thanks in part to continuous support from Dr Sim,” he said.
