KUCHING: The Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Pending branch held its 15th Triennial General Meeting here on Sunday where Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian was unanimously re-elected as the branch chairman.

Dr Sim’s re-election underscores the unwavering confidence and trust placed in his leadership by party members.

In his acceptance speech, he expressed heartfelt gratitude for their continued support and reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive leadership.

“Together, we can build a more robust and responsive organisation that truly represents and meets the needs of our people,” he stated, emphasising his vision of unity and active participation within the party.

The meeting held at Dewan Sa’ati, SUPP Headquarters, here also marked significant leadership changes in the Youth and Women Sections.

Liew Jui Heng was elected as the new Youth Section Chief, while Sim Bee Kim retained her position as chairlady of the Women Section.

Both leaders pledged to bring fresh ideas and renewed energy to their respective roles while working closely with members to address the needs of their sections.

Veteran party members were also recognised during the event, with Datuk Sim Kheng Hui, Puan Sri Sim Lim Su Kheng, Chan Chiaw Yam, and Kho Kheng Hee appointed as honorary chairpersons.

Their longstanding contributions were lauded as vital to the branch’s development and legacy.

In a bid to strengthen the branch’s leadership and inclusivity, the committee welcomed new members across various sections.

Seven new members joined the main committee, 14 in the Youth Section, and three in the Women Section, reflecting a strong commitment to cultivating fresh talent and diverse perspectives.

As the Pending branch looks to the future, it remains steadfast in its mission of fostering unity, inclusivity, and effective community service. With seasoned leaders at the helm and a dynamic team of newcomers, the branch is poised to continue driving the party’s vision and serving the people of Sarawak.
