KUCHING: Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian is to officiate at the opening ceremony of the Sarawak Teochew Sim Clan Association’s newly renovated building on Dec 10.

According to a statement issued today (Dec 8), the inauguration event will also be hosting the International Sim Clan Foundation Third Session (2021-2023) first executive board meeting, and Malaysia Sim Clan Association Third Session (2017-2020) fifth annual general meeting.

“Tomorrow (Dec 9), Sarawak Chawan Sim Clan Association will also hold a welcoming banquet and on Dec 10, Sarawak Teochew Sim Clan Association will hold a dinner to celebrate these three programmes with our deputy premier as the guest of honour at both banquets.

“The deputy premier of Sarawak will have the opportunity to meet our Malaysian and international members and to enhance friendship among the clan,” it said.

The chairman Sim Moh Khian is inviting their members to attend the ceremony to show unity and friendship among the clan.

It added that the renovation cost of the whole building that took six months to complete was assisted by Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR) with the recommendation and support of Dr Sim, who is also their honorary president.

On Dec 11, Sarawak Teochew Sim Clan will arrange for members to visit Miri and Sibu Sim Clan Association.
