KABONG: The road infrastructure to Kampung Batang Maro which replaces the river transport is like a dream come true to the villagers here.

“In the past, we never thought of how remote villages can be connected with roads,” said SK Batang Maro headmaster Allen Aran during a Hari Raya gathering at Sebaro Hall yesterday.

He added that although the roads are mostly gravel, they were still better than travelling by boats.

“We can now use cars to travel from the village to Kabong. Thanks to the efforts of Beting Maro assemblyman Razaili Gapor who has done the hard work. We have to understand that the problem cannot be solved overnight, however I am confident that the solution will come in stages and the roads here will be further improved,” he said.

Razaili, meanwhile assured that the GPS state government would upgrade the infrastructure from time to time.

“Insha-Allah assessment is being made to know the design, size and cost required,” he said.
