LUNDU: A female driver and her two children narrowly escaped a fiery death after their Proton Savvy caught fire at Kampung Selampit, Jalan Kuching Lundu.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre received a distressed call at 10.53am this morning.
A team of five firefighters from Lundu fire station were dispatched to the scene, located 31 kilometres away.
Upon arrival at 11.14am, the firefighters found that the Proton Savvy fully engulfed in flames, with the vehicle sustaining complete destruction.
The firefighters extinguished the flames using water from the fire truck and all three occupants of the vehicle were unhurt.
By 11.36am, the flames were successfully extinguished, and the operation concluded by 11.40am once the area was deemed safe.
