SIBU: A driver escaped a fiery death after his car crashed and burst into flames along Jalan Teng Kung Suk 2 on Tuesday (Nov 5).
Firefighters from Sibu station were dispatched to the scene, about 7km away, after receiving a distress call at 9.07pm.
Upon arrival, they found a Proton Waja up in flames and extinguishing works were carried out using water sourced from its fire truck.
Fortunately, the driver escaped unscathed in the incident.
Once the situation was deemed safe and there is no risk of reignition, the team ended the operation at 9.26pm.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred is still under investigation.
