MIRI: A driver of a 4WD vehicle cheated death when the vehicle he was driving skidded, knocked down a traffic light pole and rammed into a school fence at Jalan Brighton here early yesterday morning. In the incident at 2.30am, the driver was said to be heading to Tanjong Lobang from the city.
It is learned that upon arrival at the location, the driver lost control of the vehicle before it rammed a traffic light pole and rammed into a school fence.
The driver was lucky to escape unhurt. In a separate accident, the drivers of two vehicles were in shock when their vehicles collided at a traffic light junction at Jalan Permyjaya Utama here yesterday morning.
The 10am accident involved a Proton Saga car and 4WD vehicle..
The incident caused the driver of the Proton Saga car to sustain minor injuries while the 4WD driver was unhurt. The accident is believed to have happened when one of the vehicles jumped the red light. However, the actual cause of the accident is still being investigated by the traffic police.
