KUCHING: The driver of a Proton Saga vehicle died after the car he drove collided with a tree at Jalan Sultan Tengah last Friday.
The Fire and Rescue Department received a call at 8:56 pm regarding the incident which prompted a team from Petra Jaya fire station to the scene.
“Upon arrival at the scene, a single-vehicle accident involving a Proton Saga BLM which collided with a tree was discovered with a victim found inside the vehicle.
“Examination revealed that the victim was unconscious but not trapped. Firefighters extricated the victim from the driver’s seat successfully using specialised lifting equipment.
“The Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) team assessed the victim and provided emergency CPR assistance upon confirming the absence of vital signs,” it said.
The victim was handed over to the ambulance for further treatment and pronounced dead at the scene by the Ministry of Health (MOH) staff and the body was later handed over to the police for further action.
