LAWAS: A man managed to escape unharmed after his car burst into flames in front of the Seri Malaysia Lawas Hotel at Jalan Lawas Damit here on today morning.
The fire, which involved a Mitsubishi Pajero, had already been extinguished by the vehicle’s owner by the time the Fire and Rescue Department (BOMBA) arrived at the scene.
The fire had destroyed approximately 30 per cent of the car, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.
According to BOMBA, no shutdown operations were necessary.
Firefighters from Lawas BOMBA conducted a thorough re-examination of the vehicle to ensure there were no remaining fire hazards.
The emergency call reporting the incident was received at 9.30 am on Saturday.
Authorities have yet to ascertain the cause of the fire.
