SIBU: A driver managed to escape unharmed after his Proton Saga collided with a broken down lorry parked along Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman early this morning (July 29).

BOMBA’s photo shows the scene of the incident.

Fire and Rescue Department Zone 4 chief Andy Alie said they received a distress call regarding the incident at approximately 2.58 am.

The collision involved the stationary lorry and the car, which was travelling towards the town area.

Upon arriving at the scene, the rescue team found the 54-year-old driver trapped inside his vehicle.

“The team secured the scene and found that the victim did not suffer any injuries and only complained of back pain,” he said in a statement today.

The victim was handed over to the paramedics for further treatment.

“The operation concluded safely, and the team returned to the station after ensuring the scene was secure,” Andy said.
