SIMANGGANG: A local man was fined for a traffic violation after hastily entering the fast lane along KM9, Jalan Sri Aman-Kuching on Tuesday.

The incident was detected by the police after a dashcam footage capturing a Proton Wira vehicle exiting the underpass of Sri Aman flyover and swiftly manoeuvring into the right lane towards Kuching, went viral on Facebook.

According to the Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department, the clip depicted the vehicle abruptly entering the fast lane, nearly causing a collision with another vehicle already occupying the lane.

The viral video had garnered negative feedback online, condemning the driver’s actions as potentially endangering other road users.
