LUNDU: A lorry driver sustained injuries after his soil-laden vehicle overturned on Jalan Tabuan Lundu on Wednesday (Nov 20).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received a distress call at 5.25 pm and dispatched firefighters from the Lundu station to the scene.
Upon arrival, they found the overturned lorry blocking half of the road, with the driver trapped inside the cabin. Rescue tools were used to extricate him.
After being freed, the injured driver was handed over to paramedics and transported to hospital for further treatment. The extent of his injuries remains unknown.
The team also conducted flushing operations to clear debris and soil spillage from the road, ensuring the safety of other road users.
The rescue operation concluded at 6.10 pm.
