SARIKEI: A man sustained minor injuries following a two-vehicle collision near Sekolah Menengah Ming Lik on Saturday night.
The accident involving a pickup truck and a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) happened at around 7.40 pm along Jalan Repok.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department said firemen from Sarikei station were deployed to the scene after receiving an emergency call.
On arrival, the team carried out extrication works using rescue tool to free the trapped MPV driver from his seat.
As soon as he is freed, the victim was handed over to the paramedics for treatment.
Meanwhile, the pickup truck driver managed to escape the collision without sustaining injuries.
Once the situation was deemed safe for other road users, the team ended the operation at around 7.55 pm and headed back to their station.
