SONG: A local man was injured on New Year’s Eve after his car collided with a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) along Jalan Song-Kapit today (Dec 31).

Firemen from the Song station were dispatched to the scene after receiving a distress call at 10.57 am regarding the accident.

Upon arrival, they found that the 42-year-old driver, whose extent of injuries was not known, was still in the car but not trapped.

The team proceeded to assist the driver out of his car using a stretcher before handing him over to the paramedics for further treatment.

Meanwhile, the driver and four passengers of the MPV managed to escape unharmed in the collision.

The operation concluded at 11.22 am after flushing works were carried out to clear the road of oil spill and accident debris.
