SERIAN: An elderly driver died on the spot after he was thrown out of his pick-up truck in a crash along KM43, Jalan Kuching-Serian yesterday (Dec 4).
Serian police chief DSP Aswandy identified the victim as Peter Tay Kok Fah, 64.
The accident happened around 4.40 pm when the vehicle skidded to the left, hit a slope of land before overturning. The victim was driving solo from Kuching to Serian.
“The impact caused Tay to land in a ditch after he was thrown out of the vehicle.
“He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics and his body was taken to Serian Hospital for a post-mortem,” he said.
Thethe case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
