KUCHING: A local man died on the spot while two others were slightly injured following a two-vehicle crash along Jalan Tun Jugah early this morning (Apr 28).
The accident, involving a Perodua Bezza and a Nissan Sunny, happened in front of Premier 101 around 3.38am.
Firefighters from Tabuan Jaya station were rushed to the scene, about 8km away, after receiving an emergency call.
Upon arrival, they found that the Sunny driver was trapped in his seat and extrication works were performed to free him from his vehicle.
The victim, identified as 37-year-old Bong Kee Tze, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. His body was taken to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for post-mortem procedures.
Meanwhile, the Bezza driver and his female passenger escaped the accident with light injuries.
The team ended the operation at 4.50am.
