MIRI: A man was injured after he was involved in an accident at Jalan Miri-Pujut here, yesterday evening.
The accident happened when the man lost control of the pick-up truck, he was driving to the town centre and crashed into a road barrier, skidded and landed in a watery ditch.
State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operation centre received a distress call of the accident at 9.08pm.
Following the call, eight firefighters from Miri Fire and Rescue Department led by PBK II Abang Muhammad Fhazil rushed to the scene.
Abang Muhammad said that the injured driver had already been removed by members of the public when they arrived.
The driver has been identified as Thonas Akin, 33, who sustained minor injuries and was given immediate treatment by Bomba EMRS Unit personnel before he was taken to Miri Hospital for further treatment.
The operation ended at 9.34pm.
