MIRI: A 69-year-old man sustained injuries on his leg following a self-driving car accident in front of Borneo Medical Centre, Jalan Miri-Bintulu on Sunday.

The incident involved a Perodua Myvi vehicle, which veered off the road and crashed into a tree.

Emergency responders from the Miri Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene at 2.12 pm after receiving a distress call.

Upon arrival, they discovered one individual trapped inside the vehicle.

Firefighters used specialised equipment to extricate the victim, who suffered injuries to his right leg.

Medical personnel from Borneo Medical Centre provided initial treatment on-site before the man was transported to Miri Hospital for further care.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
