SARIKEI: Two men were left injured after a car skidded and crashed into a concrete road divider along Jalan Sarikei-Saratok this morning.
The accident happened around 9.50 am when the 37-year-old victim was driving his Proton Saga.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Sarikei station were promptly despatched to the scene after being alerted.
On arrival, the team had to extricate the trapped driver.
As soon as the victim was freed, he was handed over to the paramedics to be taken to Sarikei Hospital.
Meanwhile, a 55-year-old Pan Borneo worker, who was conducting road maintenance work, also sustained injuries as a result of the crash.
The victim was taken to Sarikei Hospital by the Civil Defence Force (APM) ambulance. The extent of their injuries was not made known.
