KUCHING: Two local men were left injured after their vehicles crashed into the rear of two cargo lorries in separate accidents recently.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the crashes happened in Siburan last night (Feb 6) and Tatau this morning.
The first accident in Siburan happened in front of a supermarket along Jalan Kuching-Serian at 11.45 pm when a Perodua Alza rear-ended a cargo lorry parked by the roadside.
Firemen from the Siburan station rushed to the scene to free the 48-year-old driver who was pinned to his seat.
Once freed, the victim, whose injuries were not known, was treated on-site before he was rushed to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for further treatment.
Meanwhile, the second accident in Tatau, happened in Setiam area, Jalan Tatau-Bintulu at 12.13 am when a pick-up truck rear-ended another cargo lorry.
Firemen from the Tatau station were dispatched to the scene and by the time they arrived, the 29-year-old injured driver was already rescued out of his vehicle by passers-by.
The victim, whose injuries were not known, was taken to the Bintulu Hospital for further treatment.
The cargo lorry driver escaped unscathed in the accident.
