SIBU: The STEM Trailblazer 2024 Programme, held at the Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud Chancellor Hall, Universiti Teknologi Sarawak (UTS), has achieved notable success.
Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development, Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee, praised the organisers, sponsors, and the dedication shown by all students and teachers involved.
“The creativity and enthusiasm demonstrated in projects like Raspberry Pi, the fierce competition in Robomaster and drone challenges, and the innovative final year projects in ReTex 2024 have been truly inspiring,” he said.
His speech was read by Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development, Adana Jet, during the programme today (July 13).
The Nangka assemblyman also extended his congratulations to all participants and winners.
“Whether you received a prize or not, you have gained invaluable experience and knowledge that will benefit your future endeavours,” he said.
He highlighted the importance of continued commitment to enhancing STEM education, noting its significant role in shaping Sarawak’s future.
During the programme, Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina (SJKC) Chung Hua Krokop won the Raspberry Pi Innovation Challenge for Primary School, with another team from the same school placing second, and a team from Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Song Kheng Hai placing third.
In the Mini Drone Competition (secondary school), Ryan Wong emerged as the winner, with Weis Tie and Jowel Ashta placing second and third, respectively.
In the RoboMaster Competition, Weis Tie and Oliver Tang Yu Xuan emerged as the champions, while Cyrus Chew and Ting Luk Chi won second place, and Mohammad Fazmie Shah and Wilfred Joo secured third place.
