KUCHING: A 24-year-old man was arrested by the police on Monday for possessing drugs believed to be syabu.
According to Padawan District Police chief Supt Aidil Bolhassan, the suspect was arrested in front of a house at Taman Alamanda, Taman Malihah around 6pm.
When police inspected him, they found a large plastic packet weighing 5.25g with nine smaller packets of crystal substances suspected to be syabu.
He was believed to be involved in drug abuse activities three years agov and had collected his supplies via ATM machine transactions before collecting them at Jalan Laksamana Cheng Ho.
The case is being investigated under Section 39A (1) and Section 15(1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
The suspect has been remanded for further investigation.
