KUCHING: Two women were arrested following a drug raid in Matang yesterday.

Padawan district police headquarters Supt Aidil Bolhassan said the suspects, aged 27 and 47, were detained by narcotics police from the district headquarters at Taman Dahlia, Matang for alleged involvement in drug activities.

A body check found a straw containing white substance weighing 0.90g believed to be ketamine on one of the suspects while the other suspect had nothing illegal on her.

“Further checks of the house we found a translucent plastic package that contains two smaller packages. In one package was a crystalline substance believed to be syabu with an estimated weight of 0.78g while in the other, a substance believed to be ketamine weighing 1.20g ,” he said when contacted.
He added one of the two suspects was tested positive for drugs following a urine screening carried out on them.

“The case is still being investigated,” he said.

Aidil appealed to the public to continue to channel information on drug related activities in the police fight against the drug menace.
